President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced that 12 million families in Nigeria will receive N8,000 over a six-month period to help alleviate the difficulties faced by Nigerians due to the removal of subsidies.
The President stated in a letter to the House of Representatives, read aloud by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas at a plenary session on Tuesday, that this financial support is intended to assist impoverished and vulnerable individuals in meeting their basic needs.
Tinubu also highlighted that this initiative would have a positive impact on around 60 million people.
To ensure the transparency and credibility of this program, the President revealed that the funds would be transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through digital transfers.
