2019: Atiku Emerges PDP Presidential Flag bearer

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President, has won the Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) Presidential flag bearer for the February 2019 polls, with a garnared votes of 1,532.

The result was made known by the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, who is the Chairman of the Convention Committee.

The primary election in Port Harcourt, which was said to be keenly contested lasted till the early hours of Sunday saw Atiku polling the highest votes of  1,532 votes, with Aminu Tambuwal polling 693 votes coming second position.
 
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki scored 317 votes, Jonah Jang 19 votes, Ahmed Datti, 5 votes, Sure Lamido, 96 votes, Attahiru Bafarawa 48 votes, Rabiu Kwankwaso, 158, Ibrahim Dakwambo, 111 votes and Ahmed Markafi, 74 votes.
 
The election which was held under a tensed atmosphere has since witnessed a relax mood after the announcement.
