Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo endorsing Presidential candidate of  the Peoples Democratic party,

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, cannot affect the winng chances of President Muhammadu Buhari and, All Progressives Congress (APC)  in 2019 general elections,  APC House of Representatives candidate  in Ekiti State, Hon Sola Fatoba has said.

Fatoba who made the declaration while reacting to the reported endorsement of Atiku by the former President, insisted that Obasanjo WAS no longer a factor to determine a wining candidate in the Nigerian politics, adding that such an action could not reduce the popularity of Buhari.

He contended that the reported endorsement by Obasanjo would not give Atiku any leverage in the 2019 presidential poll against Buhari.

Fatoba who is the APC candidate for Ekiti Central Constituency 1, said  in  the South-west, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains the indisputable political leader capable of determining the political direction of the Yoruba people.

Fatoba pointed out that the goodwill that President Buhari is enjoying among the people as an incorruptible President of Nigeria surpassed whatever influence Obasanjo can lay claim to among the electorate.

Fatoba expressed confidence that the coast is clear for the victory of the APC and Buhari in the 2019 general election because there are several achievements that the APC, the ruling Party, could point at as the reasons Buhari should be returned.

He also declared that he had no doubt within him that the new Governor of Ekiti state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi would bring the desired development to ensure the restoration of the lost glory of the state.

“You could see Fayemi’s preparedness with his visit to various agencies and parastatals both within the country and oversees, seeking collaboration and assistance on how Ekiti’s economy and business could be improved.”

According to him, the incoming administration has mapped out arrangements to prioritise the welfare of its workers and put smile on faces of the people of Ekiti .
