Four men, who claimed to be members of the Oodu’a Peoples Congress (OPC), were on Wednesday in Lagos remanded in Ikoyi prison over alleged murder of a suspected cult member.
The accused — Saheed Saliu, 26; Raheem Adekunle, 35; Musbau Garuba, 20; and Jide Sunny – are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder at an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court.
The prosecution told the court that the men allegedly killed one Ahmed Balogun of Aiye cult, during a fight on April 22, 2011 at Ibeju-Lekki.
Cpl. Babaji Ishiaku said the offence committed by the men, who claimed to be OPC members, contravened Sections 211 and 324 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
Magistrate Joy Ugbomoiko, who did not take the plea of the accused, remanded them in prison custody pending advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The case was adjourned to Feb. 10.
