4 Thai Nationals, 2 Nigerians Kidnapped on Rivers Owned Fish Farm

Four Thai nationals working on the Rivers State owned Boguma Fish Farm were on Friday abducted alongside their

two Nigerian co-workers.

Commissioner for Agriculture, Emmanuel Chinda, said all six workers on the Israeli managed farm were kidnapped by gunmen at about 7:30am local time on Friday. Onida farms is the name of the Israeli consultants to the Rivers State government on the project.

No group has yet claimed responsibility or demanded specific ransom amount, but local sources told Sharpedgenews.com that the said development could have been contrived by Abuja politicians who “desperately want to prove that the Governor, whom they desperately want to unseat, no longer has the authority and power to continue in office.”

Central authorities in their determination to assert “federal might” have eroded the power of the governor and rolled back the victory it established over such violent crimes in a two month protracted state of anarchy. “It was a battle Governor Amaechi had effectively won until Jonathan and his wife, Faka Patience brought their wahala here,” said a local restaurant operator in Port-Harcourt on Friday.

Mrs. Angela Agabe, the police spokesperson for Rivers State, said that the details of the abductions were still sketchy, but that everything would be done to secure freedom for the victims.
