10th Anniversary of Bola Ige Assassination: Son, Muyiwa Ige, Drives Away Stepsister with Thugs

– Also Uses Osun State Machinery to Frustrate Stepsister’s Effort at Remembering Dad

THE only surviving son of the late former Attorney-General of Federation, Chief Ajibola Ige, Muyiwa Ige, penultimate week allegedly recruited thugs to dislodge the gathering of people who thronged Esa-Oke for the 10th year anniversary ceremony organized by his stepsister who goes by the name Sola.

The incidence, which happened at the residence of the late Yoruba leader in Esa-Oke, in Osun State, was due to the fact Muyiwa, who is also the Commissioner for Urban and Regional Planning in Osun State, was trying to conceal the polygamous secret of his late father.

The late Chief Ige who was popularly known as the Cicero of Esa-Oke while alive was reported to have fathered some children out of wedlock and that few family members of his were aware of the existence of the children, to whom the younger Mr. Ige had shown disdain on many occasions.

Investigations by sharpedgenews.com which was also corroborated by many Esa-Oke indigenes revealed that the children of Late Atinuke Ige, being the legal wife, were the only ones enjoying the privilege of  being called and referred to as Ige’s children.

This was why, according to findings, the other children of the late legal luminary are usually shut out of any event or ceremony in memory of the late Chief Bola Ige.

Further investigation by sharpedgenews.com revealed that the development prompted Sola, a daughter from an Ijebu woman, to organize her own 10th year remembrance ceremony in Esa-Oke, only to get a shocker when alleged Muyiwa Ige’s mercenaries invaded the venue and prevented her and the mammoth crowd of Esa-Oke indigenes from entering the residence of her father where the event was supposed to take place.

The mercenaries, armed with dangerous weapons reportedly fired shots into the air to prevent the procession from gaining access into Bola Ige’s residence in Esa-Oke.

A source told sharpedgenews.com that Muyiwa Ige, apart from using hired mercenaries to dislodge the crowd, also used the state apparatus in Osun State to gain undue advantage as no law enforcement agents invited honored the invitation.

Sharpedgenews.com gathered that even though Muyiwa was not physically present at the venue, one of his closed associates who is also said to be a member of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) led the team of gun wielding mercenaries who dislodged the crowd and forced Sola to shift to another venue.

Further findings showed that the OPC mercenary has been the Chief Security Officer to Muyiwa Ige for a very long time and that he had used him for many of such dirty deals in the past.

Although, his name has remained unknown to many people, the OPC operative according to sources has been sighted in company of Muyiwa on many occasions.

The source even told Sharpedgenews.com that the OPC member was used by Muyiwa to prevent the installation of Asiwaju of Esa-Oke, a post which the late Minister of Justice held till his death.

“There is an OPC guy that he has been using for all these dirty jobs. This is why some Esa-Oke youths are looking for him. Although some of the youths have tried to attack him, but they failed because they claimed that he is too powerful because of ‘Juju’, but they are still looking for him,” the source added.

Chief Ajibola Ige was assassinated at his Bodija residence in Ibadan in 2001 and his killers are yet to be found ten years after his gruesome murder.

Efforts by sharpedgenews.com to get the younger Ige, Mr. Muyiwa Ige, on phone proved abortive as at the time of filling this report. Calls made to his cell phone were not answered. Sharpedgenews.com is still trying to unravel the true identity of the OPC member and some other alleged children of the Late Cicero, Chief Ajibola Ige.
