ONE of Nigeria’s most visible non-performing appointed public figures, Stella Oduah, has alleged plots by partial Nigerians to blackmail her over the return of flying coffin airline, DANA, whose operations still get Nigerians fuming.
Stella Odua who enjoys the protection of President Goodluck Jonathan said in a statement made available by her media assistant, Joe Obi, that a sinister plot was afoot to blackmail her over the return of DANA flying coffin to the country’s airspace.
“We have uncovered an advanced plot by a well-known hireling to blackmail, smear and tarnish the image and reputation of the Honourable Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah with the sole aim of distracting her from consolidating the gains already recorded in the transformation of the Aviation sector in line with the Transformation Agenda of the Federal government,” the statement read.
The minister tied the plot to the fallout of her disagreement with the members of the National Assembly who have differences with her over the resumed flights by DANA, saying that “this latest planned onslaught hopes to take advantage of the seeming disagreement between the Honourable Minister and the National Assembly over the Dana Airline issue.”
Competent observers of Nigeria’s aviation practice told sharpedgenews.com that the alarm by Stella Oduah is a hoax aimed at preempting and hiding “the massive atrocities and criminalities beneath the hearty clearance of DANA and other operators that have made huge profits of killing Nigerians by operating faulty aircraft and bribing people like Stella Oduah to get away with evil.”
Craving anonymity for fear of being targeted by alleged “errand persons” who can kill, those who freely volunteered information to sharpedgenews.com said that Odua has no care for the industry and that “she is confused and only obsessed with personal wardrobe effects while Nigerians are killed.”
According to an analyst, it has become more difficult to rely on official data and records since Odua became a minister than at any time during the country’s aviation history, mainly because of increased menace of airport touting, poor access for disabled travelers and contraction of dubious firms to assist the Federal Aviation Authorities of Nigeria. All the major airports in the country are also said to be facing decline as lights and other facilities are in poor working condition.
“The airport lavatories and safety standards are an embarrassing front for Nigeria.”
Ms. Odua purportedly tells personal friends that no amount of media criticisms can influence Dr. Jonathan to remove her from the federal cabinet.
