Scores of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP members are presently at the Akure Airport to welcome National Executives who are in the State to officially

receive Ondo State Deputy-Governor, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, who defected into its fold from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC on Sunday.

Agboola Ajayi and his supporters who are expected to move from the Airport after welcoming the Uche Secondus-led team, to the PDP State Secretariat along old Akure/Owo Road at Alagbaka, Akure are staging an astonishing mammoth carnival.

Details of how Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu plans to push Agboola Ajayi to voluntarily quit office as Deputy-Governor was obtained by Sharpedgenews at the weekend. Several prospective replacements for Agboola Ajayi featured in late-night consultations on Sunday.

However, the name of Barrister Isaacs Kekemeke featured prominently even as no guarantee was served that the former National Examination Council Chairman and one-time Secretary to the State Government, SSG, would be the preferred choice as Arakunrin Akeredolu’s lieutenant governor. Kekemeke is a gubernatorial aspirant within the APC fold.

An administration insider, often familiar with the workings of the mind of the Governor, explained to Sharpedgenews that while no single individual to be touted at the moment as the anointed choice, the incoming number two at Alagbaka Government House “will certainly come from Southern Senatorial District of Ondo State”.

Agboola Ajayi, according to sources, does not have the intention of quitting office as deputy governor, although he is no longer a member of APC, the platform through which he came on a joint ticket with his now-estranged principal, Akeredolu.

The PDP Secretariat is agog waiting for the guests from Abuja on hand for Agboola’s home-coming.
