Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ondo State, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), has expressed the readiness to accommodate
all those having genuine interest in his candidature, regardless of their political parties.
He gave the assurance at the PDP secretariat in Akure yesterday, during a session with stakeholders of the party.
He noted that since he was seeking the mandate of the people of Ondo State, it would be self-defeating to alienate any segment of the society in the campaign process.
Jegede, as such, tasked all PDP leaders and members in the state to operate an open-door policy, by admitting as many people as wish to vote in the PDP, to effect the needed transformation in the state.
“Once you get back home, open your doors and accommodate all those who genuinely show interest, irrespective of their political parties.
“As you must have noticed with the coming on board of Accord Party, many are still on their way; they will meet us in peace and together we shall march on to victory,” he enthused.
Urging party members to bond in unity, regardless of who they worked for in the pre-primary election era, Jegede also said, “The primary is over, and whatever happened before and during the process is over.
“Regardless of where individuals worked and the different aspirants we all supported, the PDP is now one.
“Let’s go back home where the work is, to bring out the votes and in the next few days, the structure that will represent the yearnings and aspirations of members to get the job done up to the unit level, will be announced.”
