Business activities and vehicular flow were effectively grounded for hours in Akure this Friday as students of
higher institutions staged a peaceful demonstration to demand the removal of the minister of education, professor Rukayatu Rufai and her minister of state, Wike for their future to address the one month old industrial action by tertiary teachers
Professor Rukayatu Rufai is accused of insensitivity about the fallen rating of the country’s academic qualifications while her minister of state, Wike is said it be distracted by petty squabbles and indecent politics.
The protesting student said that they and their parents have become the grass that suffers in the clash between the government and academic staff union elephants.
