Likeminds Allstars Kuje Hosted Their Gwagwalada Counterpart Ahead of the Forthcoming Veteran Competition at the Goal Project

Likeminds AllStars of Kuje in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, during the Easter holiday, hosted their Gwagwalada counterpart on a friendly match at its new Funtaj International School Stadium in Kuje.

Mr Okam Orji Okam and Gami Tadanyigbe, the Public Relations Officer (PRO 1&2) of the AllStars made this known in a press statement issued to newsmen in Abuja.
The statement said the friendly match was aimed at preparing the team ahead of the Goal Project veterans tournament scheduled to kick off on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the M.K.O Abiola National Stadium in Abuja!
Although the impromptu friendly match did not end in favour of Likeminds as the Gwagwalada visitors at their youthful ages went home with a 4-2 win after a keenly contested encounter.

Kabir Ibrahim popularly known as ‘SKIPPO’ opened the scoring count at the early stage of first half and Okam after missing several chances of scoring goals but later leveled the margin at the second half of the game.
Likeminds team had several chances to close the gap and extend their lead, but they soon paid the price for their lack of precision in front of the visitors goal post.
Few minutes before the final whistle, Likeminds team later relaxed its counter-attack possibly due to fatigue and allowed the visitors hit back of the net in short intervals to take the 4-2 lead.
Mr Momoh Mohammed, the President of Likeminds AllStars kuje, commended the team for their wonderful performance despite the short notice and urge them to get fully prepared to win the veteran competition.
The President said the Goal project was initiated by former FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and ratified at the FIFA Extraordinary Congress in Los Angeles on July 9, 1999.
According to him, after a long history of developmental work at FIFA, the launch of the Goal project heralded a new era, coinciding with the new millennium.
Momoh said It offers tailored-made programs designed to suit the individual country’s needs implemented by FIFA experts in close cooperation with the national associations.
He maintained that the ultimate objectives are to empower national associations depending on each association’s priorities, and will offer help in infrastructures, education, coaching, sports medicine, refereeing and talent promotion among others!
“LIKEMINDS ALLSTAR KUJE is in full hope that the positive  impacts of veterans competition will be realised!, he said.
