AYEDE OGBESE KINGMAKERS PICK TOP TOUGH LITIGATION ATTORNEY AS MONARCH

Frontline lawyer, Prince Raphael Ajibola Oluyede was on Wednesday elected as the new Alayede of Ayede Ogbese, the gateway kingdom to the capital of Ondo state to the north-east .

The Afobajes, the kingmakers, High chief Femi Fajembimo and the Odopetu, High chief Oladimeji Abitogun voted unanimously after they said they had been given “widespreed  and overwhelming democratic mandate by a majority of chiefs, princes, princesses and common  people of the kingdom”, in a process that had local council and state government officials as observers.

The Alayede royal throne which became vacate in march 2020 following the demise of Oba Isaac Ayodele Oluyede V, was contested by eight princes, the race tightened to a two-way competition between prince Ajibola Oluyede 63years old, and his elder cousin, Pastor Reuben Adegoriola Oluyede 70 years old, a retired local government – technician, who is in the race for the fourth time.

The choice pick of the kingmakers is the son of famous law teacher and judge, Oba (professor) Peter Adetunbi Olasehinde Oluyede IV and Olori Dorcas Titilayo Oluyede, retired lagos school principal.

Prince Ajibola Oluyede is an high profile attorney who has handled matters on behalf of late Dr Tunji Braithwate, Senator Buruji kasamu, Bukola Saraki, Ifeanyi Ubah of capital oil and other top notch clients.

Described by a National Newspaper as the quintessential Lawyer, Prince Ajibola sOluyede (a Prince of the Oluyede Royal family of AyedeOgbese), has effectively traversed the entire gamut of legal Practice in Nigeria as a litigator and counsellor.

Admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1981, he began legal practice in Benin City and quickly came to public attention in the lawsuit filed to contest the quota system of admission of students into public funded Federal Universities in 1982. During the years of military dictatorship in Nigeria, he argued landmark cases in Habeas Corpus and Fundamental Human Rights Enforcement.

Gravitating eventually to commercial litigation, with a practice based in London, Lagos and Abuja, he has firmly established his reputation as a tough litigator and commercial lawyer with special interest in cross border financial transactions and compliance with money laundering as well as other regulations.

Prince Oluyede, previously Managing Partner at TRLP SOLICITORS LONDON, is a founding Principal Partner of TRLPLAW  Solicitors and Arbitrators (a full service international Commercial law practice) and is constantly consulted and has acted in respect of high profile matters in the United Kingdom involving many well-known Nigerian figures.

He is also much sought after litigator and strategist for high stakes cases within and outside Nigeria.

Nicert’s intervention in the past two years has seen a rise in the production of certified value added and high value Agricultural products including certified organic products.

Prince Oluyedewas a founding director of Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited, concessionaires of the Kainji and Jebba hydroelectricity installations and the largest producer of clean energy in Nigeria today.

He is also a Director of Highland Disco Acquisition Limited, owners of the majority shareholding in Jos Electricity Distribution Company Limited.

Prince Ajibola Oluyede, ordained pastor of the Christ Chapel international Churches, for many years served as Ikeja Worship Centre Pastor of that ministry until 2001.

A man of personal convictions and devotion to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, Prince Oluyede continues to serve as a member of the advisory council of the church.
