The Senator representing the FCT is to support the National Population Commission, NPC, with Five Motorcycles and other logistics to enable the Commission to carry out its Enumeration Area Demarcation Exercise In the Territory.
Senator Philip Aduda stated this while receiving the Federal Commissioner of NPC representing the FCT Mr. Joseph Shazin on an advocacy visit to the Senator in Abuja.
The Senator who described the Enumeration Area Demarcation exercise as a critical tool for conducting a credible census and National planning said providing the necessary support to the Commission would enhance a hitch-free exercise in the Territory.
Senator Aduda also emphasized the need for the Commission to take advantage of technological gadgets for the collection and storage of data for reference purposes.
The Distinguished Senator also urged political office Holders not to be biased in providing the dividend of Democracy to residents irrespective of their Party differences.
Earlier, Mr. Shazin while thanking the senator for standing by him during his screening that leads to his appointment as the commissioner of NPC promised to represent his People at commission diligently.
The commissioner noted that the Enumeration Area Demarcation exercise was targeted at correcting some of the previous mistakes and including new buildings in the EADs.
Mr. Shazin was accompanied by the Territorial Director of FCT NPC Mr. Abdullahi Umar and other Directors of the Commission. (NAN)
