250 Local, International Exhibitors Expected at 16th Abuja Trade Fair

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has said it expects a minimum of 250 local and international exhibitors at this year’s edition of the annual Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF).

This was disclosed by the President of the Chamber Dr. Al-Mujtaba Abubakar in a statement on the upcoming event.

The event, the 16th in the series, which is slated to hold from 30th September to 9th October, 2021 has as its theme:  “Exploring Opportunities of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)”.

Abubakar also said that the location of Abuja as the Capital of Nigeria surrounded by 19 Northern states with a one-hour flight from Lagos and every geopolitical zone to Abuja makes it more strategic, convenient, and safer to host a large number of both international and local participants.

Also speaking about the upcoming event, the Director-General of the Chamber, Victoria Akai, said that adequate arrangements have been emplaced to ensure a hitch-free as well as COVID-19  protocols compliant fair.

“Everything has been put in place including adherence to COVID-19 protocol for everyone that will participate in the fair”, the DG said.

Over the previous 15 editions the fair has attracted over 24,000 exhibitors, close to a million visitors and has continued to grow from year to year.

The fair is a platform designed to promote and strengthen businesses, trade and investment opportunities, in the country.

It also provides a neutral and open atmosphere for blue chip companies, trade groups/associations, government investment/export promotion agencies, institutions and other private sector organizations to engage new business partners for investment/trade relations and conclude business deals.
