JSPSNC Gets New Leadership

The Joint State Public Service Negotiating Council (JSPSNC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, has enthroned new leadership to pilot its affairs for the next four years.

The National Returning Officer, Comrade Yusuf Kiyawa, said the delegate election was in line with the Councils Electoral Regulations and all the elected executives remained validly nominated for their various elected positions.

Comrade Kiyawa who also graced the State delegates’ conference in Abuja, charged the newly elected leader to come up with new salary structures that will cope with the lives of Nigerian workers.

He noted that JSPSNC is a recognised body by Law, saddled with the responsibility of negotiating the salary structures, welfare of workers and an engine room through which the government can succeed in its quest to build a developed nation.

However, he, called on the new leadership to always take the welfare of its members seriously and be prudent
in the discharge of their responsibilities.

In her acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman of the Council, Comrade Deborah Yusufu, thanked the members for giving them the opportunity to lead for the next four years and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in them.

She, however, assured its members that one of the major tasks before the newly elected executives is to see the actualisation of a better salary structures and good working conditions for workers in the country.

Comrade Shanabo Abubakar, the newly elected Secretary commended members of the negotiating Council for their peaceful disposition during the election and urged other elected executives to always work for the interest of their members.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that all delegates that contested in the various negotiating Councils positions returned unopposed during the State delegates conference.

The newly elected executives are, Comrade Deborah Yusufu as Chairman, Com. Timothy Odebunmi (Vice Chairman) Com. Shanabo Abubakar (Secretary) Com. Obineche Anthony (Assistant Sec.) Com. Agha Ukpai-Agha (Treasurer). (NAN)
