The Agbari Elite Association of Nigeria has helds its maiden Summit in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and has called on all sons and daughters to stay united for the promotion of its cultural heritage, education, welfare, peace, unity and development of Gbari nation.
Comr. Musa Jibril, the Chairman of Gbari Elite Association, who delivered his speech during the occasion in Gwagwalada with the Theme titled :Rethinking The Gbari Unity in Challenging Times: said the organisation took it upon itself to come together and discuss on the Gbari unity.
According to him, at the end of the Summit which is centered on “Gbari Unity” and it would be able to change a Gbari man’s thought and perception towards politics in the country.
He said the organisation have done some projects as its cooperate social responsibilities such as fixing faulty hand-pump borehole, distribution of treated mosquito nets to Agbari pregnant women and nursing mothers and lobbying of state and Federal appointment to Agbari applicants.
Dalhatu Ezekiel Musa, the Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission (PCC) on his part tasked all Gbari speakers to install purposeful leadership and visionary leadership in Gbari Nation and beyond.
The commisioner said modern leadership should be characterised by quality and not quantity, adding that a sustainable development and empowerment chain should be the watch ward.
However, he maintained that in other to have a successful Gbari Nation, they must plan their leadership across board and be purposeful with leadership recruitment to attain the desired goals and achievements in the country.
Mr Aliyu Daniel Kwali, the Turakin Kwali on his presentation said in other to have the proverbial unity among the Gbari people, there should be a conceptual long, medium and short term vision that will serve as guideposts on the long journey of unity.
Turakin Kwali added that among other factors to foster unity are, setting an agenda, focusing on objectives that unite, identifying ethnic groups that share culture, organising periodic cultural and intellectual events, extending the frontiers of the nucleus Gwari nationality, pursue intermarriage, create education, cultural and social cooperation programs and enforce trade.
