Following the inauguration of over 200 Buffalo branded operational vehicles and other security hardware by President Muhammadu Buhari procured by the Government through the Nigeria Police Trust Fund NPTF on Thursday.
The Vice Chairman of NBA Gwagwalada Branch, Barr.David E.Aigbefoh has commended the efforts of the Federal Government and police officers for their selfless service and determination to rid the country of crime.
While also condoling the families of personnel that died in the course of service to Nigeria, he also made a Clarion call for increased security patrol in order to holistically address the various security threats facing the Federal Capital Territory and Nigeria as a whole.
He said Tunga-Maje town and its environs is becoming a fast developing urban Area as a result of influx of viable and important personality in the area.
Hence, due to the attendance of crime rate operational vehicles was paramount to aid patrols which will help in curbing crimes of kidnapping, banditry, robbery and other social vices.
According to him, the incessant crimes at Tunga-Maje, Anagada, Zuba, Yimi, Shanigu, Thitumi, Kazukwu and the recent kidnapping at the University of Abuja is worrisome, hence their was need for adequate security in the area.
Barr.Aigbefoh made this call while playing host to guests at his Abuja residence recently, stating that procurement of these vehicles will further boost the capacity of the Nigeria Police Force to deliver efficiently in terms of security.
He expressed high optimism that the Inspector General of Police and his Security team would make judicious and effective use of the gadgets as well as deploy these operational vehicles to the various communities within the FCT especially, the satellite communities of Tunga maje, Zuba and Gwagwalada Town for improved citizen safety and security, he said.
