Zenith Hills Academy Graduates Students, Task Parents on Proper Upbringing of Children

Zenith Hills Academy in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has graduated over sixty three students from various classes for hard work, dedication and academic performance.

Mrs Enyiade Christiana, the Head Teacher of the school said the graduating students are from nursery and primary school category and the ceremony is aimed at recognising the best, hardworking and most improved students.

According to her, recognition was given to those who exhibited admirable traits such as good behavior, neatness, caring and good talent in pupils and students.

She called on parents to ensure proper monitoring of their children as security situation in the country was becoming worrisome.

However, she also called on proper upbringing of their children to avoid youthful exuberance and moral decadence during and after the holidays.

“I call on the graduating students to exhibit virtues of hard work and diligence on what we have impacted on them for the development of the country.

“The parents also have a great role to play in the upbringing of their children to ensure they study their books and are seen at the right place at the right time,” she said.

Besides, the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) Chairperson, Mrs Esther Sulaiman, on her part called for adequate learning skills for children to enable them self reliant in future.

She maintained that if the youths acquire the necessary basic skills required, it would enable them to be self employed as there were no white collar jobs available in the country.

Miss Aisha Zakari, the field officer “Slum to school”, a Non-Governmental Organisation, called on parents to be adequately involved in their children’s academic process.

Zakari said Slum to school is an NGO that partners with Zenith Hills Academy, to identify and ensure vulnerable kids in some part of the country get adequate education.

However, she called on the government at all levels to do more to ensure every child get access to basic and quality education in the country for national development.

Sa’adatu Musa, a graduating student from JSS 2 thanked the school management for the efforts and promised to be dedicated and hardworking in her future endeavours.

Highlight of the graduation ceremony was recitation from the holy quran, quiz competiton, drama and fun fair by the graduating students. (NAN)
