We read with dismay a tweet by one D.H Bwala, a supposed lawyer and politician, on the 11 of September 2023 which read inter alia: “Following from my previous tweet, I am also hearing that Abuja natives are going to file a motion on notice seeking the order of court restraining Wike from parading himself as the Minister of FCT pending the hearing and determination of the suit. That they would also seek for a temporary order directing the chairman of Abuja municipal to administer the FCT as an administrator pending the hearing and determination of the the case”.
Ordinarily, we would have chosen to ignore this baseless allegation as twittered by B H Bwala.
The Abuja Municipal Area Council under the current leadership of the Executive Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has ensured that the council is open and transparent in its dealings, as well as ensuring fairness to all Nigerians.
As a man who came from a humble beginning and is a patriotic and complete gentleman and hates evil agenda or any form of pull him down syndrome, Hon. Maikalangu will never be part of any action that will bring down his mentor and his father and son relationship with His Excellency the Minister of the FCT, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.
It should be pointed out that Hon. Maikalangu has always followed the footsteps of the hardworking and indefatigable FCT Minister, even when he served as a two-term Executive Governor of Rivers State from 2015 to 2023.
Therefore, it is shocking and absurd to hear of such allegation relating the Executive Chairman of AMAC and sponsored agenda and nepotism coming from faceless individuals, who are very far from the Council as allegations by this B.H Bwala and his ilk cannot be true.
For record purposes, the Executive Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has been a keen follower of the current FCT Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, and will always follow him till the successful end of his tenure.
Allegations relating to the AMAC Chairman to administer the FCT as an administrator are mere insinuations and handiwork of mischiefmakers and evildoers, who will stop at nothing to tarnish the image of the Executive Chairman of AMAC and the father and son relationship between the AMAC Chairman and the FCT Minister, but they will never succeed.
It is penitent to note that the Executive Chairman of AMAC will not be distracted and will continue maintaining his composure and good relationship with his mentor and father, the FCT Minister in the delivery of human capital projects to the good people of Abuja Municipal Area Council.
Just recently, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, broke enviable records by appointing a son of the soil and an FCT native, Hon. Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, a development we have been celebrating as it is first of its kind.
It stands to reason that the people of the FCT and AMAC are fully in support of the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and, therefore, will never do anything to scuttle a government we are part and parcel of, especially as it would amount to shooting ourselves on the foot to contemplate disrupting a peaceful and an inclusive government with any form of agitation.
Finally, we want to implore the general public to ignore these allegations as they are not true.
We also want to advise the author of this rumour to always cross check with facts on any matter concerning the FCT Council and FCT indigenes before going to the public with one-sided story as our doors are always open to provide information when approached.
