Anniversary- Live a Christlike life clergy urges christians

Rev Christian Okafor, Pastor , Christ Victorious International Church, Abuja has called on christians to  live a  Christlike life as a way of contributing to nation building.

Okafor who was Guest Speaker and also the Coordinator, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Interdenominational Fellowship made this call in Abuja on Sunday at the 10th Anniversary and Convention of Global Family Circle Chapel (GFCC).

Speaking on the topic  ”The Role of the Church in Nation Building.
Psalm 24:1,Psalm 22:28,Psalm 9:20 he said   that the church was no longer a big cathedral with long pews or chairs .

” It is now me and you.(Mathew 5:14-16) we are the salt and light,we are to light up our world, ”he said.

According to him,  christians should speak the truth to power whenever they have the opportunity and stop  unholy alignments which brings mockery and blasphemy to the name of the Lord.

Okafor said that christianity has played significant roles in the process of nation-building throughout history and continues to have an impact in various ways.

”Christian teachings emphasis ethical values, compassion, and social justice, which have influenced the development of legal systems and governance structures in many nations.

”As at Christian begin to lead well in your small corner,decide to be a leader without a title in your little space, ”he said.

He therefore urged christians to be involved in nation building by remembering that they are  watchmen in the society.

”On his part, Chairman of the  day, Pastor Godlove Ogbise, General Overseer, Flames of Fire Revival International Ministries, Lugbe said that when christians labour in the vineyard there is reward.

Ogbise said that no man comes to the kingdom of God without profit adding that serving God maybe difficult but when one presses on there will be a reward.

Taking his text from Galatians 2 verse 20, he said that christians should not play with the things of God but see themselves as being called to serve.

Earlier, Pastor Loveth Ashibuogw, Lead Pastor GFCC said that since the church was established in 2013 it had engaged in various charitable works.

She listed the charitable works to include empowerment of members, training and retraining  members in skills acquisition amongst others.

According to her, God has been doing mighty work in the church hence the theme of the convention was chosen ” The Almighty God”

Awards were given to individuals and members who have contributed to the development of the church and society.
