Gov. Sule has done exceptionally well in 2023, will do more in 2024- Commissioner

The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Finance, Hajiya Munirat Abdullahi, has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for performing exceptionally well in almost sectors of the economy in 2023 fiscal year.

The commissioner made the commendation while addressing newsmen after the governor presented the 2024 Appropriation Bill before the state House of Assembly on Friday in Lafia.

She said that in 2023, the state has achieved a lot in implementation of its projects, policies and programmes
“Which has improved on the standard of living of the people of the state.

“If you look at the implementation of 2023 budget, His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule has done well.

“He has done exceptionally well in almost all sectors of the economy and this has changed the standard of living of our people positively,” she said.

The commissioner expressed optimism that the 2024 budget would address the economic and other challenges facing the state, thereby raising the standard of living of the people.

“2024 budget by God’s grace will address the economic and other challenges facing the state.

“As there will be completion of ongoing projects, provision of more infrastructure and other critical needs of the people of the state,” she added.

On the N2.8 billion 2023 Supplementary budget sent to the House by Sule, the commissioner said that the 2023 Supplementary Appropriation Bill was necessary due to array of projects executed in the year under review.

Munirat also commended the state legislature for the consideration of the supplementary budget and the promise to give the 2024 Appropriation Bill accelerated hearing.

Besides, the commissioner called on the people of the state to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and live peacefully with each other for development to thrive.

It would be reported that Gov Sule presented the 2024 budget proposal of N199.9 billion to the state House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
