The Amalgamated APC Support Group (AASG) has expressed optimism of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda yielding positive results in no distance time.

The Group Lead, Alhaji Salman Akorede stated this in a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja.

Akorede explained that the score cards of the APC-led administration under Tinubu in the first 12 months have been well articulated by official assigned to oversee policy formulation and implementation.

He congratulated Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda Team for the achievements so far recorded across board.

“We recognised that the first 12 months that have been turbulent, given the very bold steps that this administration has taken in the formulations and implementation of tough economic reform policies.

“But, we are optimistic, that gradually, the reforms are yielding results with the value of our local currency maintaining some reasonable level of stability, compared to when the Naira witnessed daily crash to the dollar.

“We must admit that the inflation rates are still high, thus, skyrocketing the prices of essential commodities almost beyond affordability.

“This must be addressed as quickly as possible to bring succor to the masses who are most hit by the attendant hardships.

“While we acknowledge some improvements in the area of security, there is much more to be done to curb the menace of bandits and armed robbery wreaking havoc in many communities across the nation,” Akorede said.

He suggested that the Federal Government undertake a comprehensive review of the nation’s security architecture with a view of upgrading capacity to effectively tackle security challenges in the country.

Akorede urged Tinubu to do more in the area of job creation for youths and provide incentives to encourage women entrepreneurship at the grassroot to support poverty alleviation of the renewed hope agenda.

“On the political scene, we wish to remind Mr President that the bulk of our members who were his foot soldiers during the campaign are still languishing with no rewards or recognition from the government.

“While this may not be a delibrate act of commission or mission on the part of the government, we feel this require very urgent attention, now, as the race for 2027 general elections have begun in earnest.

“The role and importance of the support group cannot and should not be down played by an incumbent interested in securing a second term of office.

“We therefore urge Mr President to remember his promise to reward loyalty and hard work, by immediately setting machinery in motion for the inclusion of the support group members in his administration,” Akorede said.

He also appeal to the APC to speed up action towards ensuring the conduct of a credible election for the Amalgamated APC Support Group. (NAN)
