NPC partners AIG-Imokhuede Foundation to enhance public service productivity

National Productivity Centre (NPC) says it will partner Aig-Imokhuede Foundation to enhance productivity and efficient service delivery in the country’s public sector.

Director-General of NPC, Dr Baffa Dan’Agundi, stated this when a team from the foundation paid a courtesy visit to the centre on Thursday in Abuja.

Dan’Agundi said that partnership between the two organisations would enhance sustainable growth, innovation and effectiveness in Nigeria’s public sector.

According to him, the partnership is aimed at elevating the managerial and operational competencies of civil servants at the sub-national level through the utilisation of innovative productivity improvement tools and techniques.

“It also aims to strengthen capacities for effective policy design and implementation, with a focus on enhancing economic growth and public sector service delivery,” he said.

The director-general expressed optimism that the productivity and management consultants at the centre, located in 20 states across Nigeria, would be of immense usefulness in the implementation of the programme.

“I strongly believe that the collaboration between the centre and Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation will greatly impact the civil servants in the selected states, which will lead to improved productivity in these selected states.

“I will give you all the necessary support needed to ensure that this collaboration yields result, for the growth and development of Nigeria at large.

“I have carefully gone through the Memorandum of Understanding approved by the former director-general of our centre and have agreed to commit to the MoU,” Dan’Agundi said.

In her remarks, the foundation’s Director of Programmes, Ms Chioma Njoku, said that the visit was to commence the work plan for effective programme implementation of the MoU.

“The project objective aligns with the foundation’s goals of enhancing the lives of Africans through improved public service delivery.

“Our collaboration with NPC aims to boost public sector productivity by addressing sector-specific challenges, building staff capacity and promoting collaboration among diverse stakeholders,” Njoku said.

It would be recalled that NPC and the foundation had, on March 19, signed an MoU for the partnership.
