Ondo State Principals Adopt Mimiko For Second Term

The All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS), Ondo State branch hasthe adopted the

state governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko for  a second term in office, in  recognition of his administration’s landmark achievements in three and a half years.

 

The school principals’ adoption of Mimiko took place during its on-going Annual Conference of the Confederation in the state capital, Akure.

Speaking at the occasion, the State President, Chief Amos Aladeseye said the confederation took a stock of Mimiko’s government achievements in the education sector and concluded that the state has not had it so good in its 36 years history.

According to him, “Ondo State is among the very few states in the federation that have put in place a modern, functional and vital Inspectorate Division that has through its all-important duties and performance raised the standard of education in the state.

“We cannot but mention the sponsorship of Principals to international conferences, a gesture which had empowered them to interact with their colleagues worldwide, the massive renovation of schools, provision of school free shuttle buses and regular promotion of teachers.

“Moreover, we principals cannot, but commend the Mimiko administration for the Mega School concept which has become a model in infrastructural and academic activities in the federation as well as novel appointment of Tutors General.

In his response, Mimiko, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Ali Olanusi thanked the body promising that his administration will continue to give priority to  education in the state to make it  a world class sector.

“As at today, Ondo State pays the highest wages in the country and the state is the best in terms of workers welfare” he advanced.
