
In a display of unity and religious harmony, prominent Nigerians gathered at the Watershed Event Centre in Ibadan for the Ramadan lecture hosted by Engineer Oyedele Hakeem Alao, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
The event, which took place on March 15, 2025, was chaired by Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, and featured a distinguished lineup of guests, including the Alajia of Ajia, Oba Nureni Adegbenro; Senator Yunus Akintunde, represented by Hon. Abiodun Adeyemi; Alhaji Olaide Abass, the state Chairman of APC; and Prof. K. K. Oloso.
The event featured a lecture by a renowned Islamic cleric, Shaykh Sulaimon Amubieya, the Mudeer Daarul Hadith Ibadan.
In his lecture, titled “Mirror of Life & The Aftermath,” he emphasized that each individual is a reflection of themselves and that destiny predates the world.
He urged Muslims to trust in God’s omnipotence and wisdom, stating that one’s relationship with God determines life’s successes. Shaykh Amubieya also encouraged attendees to reflect on their lives, emphasizing that whatever one becomes is by God’s will.
He stressed the importance of maintaining a good relationship with God to achieve life’s goals.
Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, who chaired the occasion, commended the guest lecturer for his thought-provoking lecture. He stated that Islam is a religion of peace and cautioned against actions that could lead to personal misfortune.
At the event, Engineer Oyedele Hakeem Alao expressed gratitude to Oba Ladoja for chairing the event, highlighting his statesmanship and leadership. He also thanked the Alajia, the guest lecturer, and other attendees for their presence, which he described as overwhelming.
Other notable attendees included Alhaja Tinuade Adigun, the Oyo State APC Woman Leader; Prince Gbade Lana; Mogaji Abass Oloko; Architect Ganiyu Lawal; and Hon. Remi Sodiq.
