Contrary to speculation, there was no attack on the Port Harcourt refinery early Wednesday morning, according to sources.
Sharpedgenews.com gathered that the black smoke seen emanating from the facility was attributed to standard industrial operations, officials confirmed.
Ibrahim Monday Onoja, Managing Director of the Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited (PHRC), informed NNPC Limited management that no violent incident occurred at the refinery, which recently resumed operations.
The clarification comes amid concerns sparked by the visible smoke, which had fueled rumors of an attack.
