KUSSON COMMUNITY CELEBRATES KHITUK ASSET CULTURAL FESTIVAL IN GRAND STYLE.

The good people of Kusson community in southern Kaduna state recently celebrated their annual cultural festival otherwise known as Khituk Asset Cultural Festival aimed at showering gratitude to the Most High God reminiscent of the good raining season that ushers in bumper harvest.

This years celebration done in grand style, with pop and paegeantry was chaired by Kusson’s illustrious son Honourable Amos Daniel representing Jama’a./Sanga Federal constituency of Kaduna State.

The Khituk Asseit festival is usually cerebrated to thank God for the beginning of Rain fall and the Harvest period of the year. The festival held at the primary school premises Kusson, was graced by dignitaries from the nooks and crannies of southern Kaduna.
On his part, the. Senior Legislative Aide to the Most Distinguished Senator, Sunday Marshall Katung. Mr. Iliya Wilson Yangce, on behalf of the senator, while congratulating the organizers of the event, said the significance of the event was all about Unity and peace which have brought the people of southern Kaduna together to celebrate because peace is key in development.

Mr. Yangce said, that all the personalities who gathered at the event have heard the needs of the community, urging same to rise up to the challenges and ensure that the needful is being done.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Amos Daniel reverenced the Almighty God for the fair whether, serenity and peaceful atmosphere that is occasioned with the festivities, and by extension, making Kusson land and it’s people relatively peaceful.

Hon Amos Daniel is of the view that the Khituk Asset Cultural Festival celebrations ushers in the needed peace and unity for mutual coexistence. He said “the occasions of this kind makes someone to appreciate where he comes from, because it promotes unity and peaceful co- existence.”

The Federal Legislator who was overwhelmed by the cultural display of the khituk Asseit dances, urged the people to continue to preserve and uphold the cultural heritage, the Khituk Asset Cultural Festival that will be a reminder for generations yet unborn for what the Kusson nation stood for.

Right Honourable Ali Kalat, representing Jama’a constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, and Minority Leader, congratulated the organizers of the cultural event, and the entire community for deeming it necessary to come together as a people to celebrate their culture.

He thanked God for the peaceful atmosphere provided to celebrate the event, saying that, “we are here enjoying ourselves without fear of any security threat.”

Also speaking was Engr. Joseph Ciroma,FNSE who was represented by Mr Saleh B. Kure. He commended the people of Kusson for reverencing God for the beginning of the rain fall, harvest, and many blessings within the period of the year via the festival.

Engr Ciroma said the festival time is the period that the young ones are initiated, “it brings people together to remember what God has done for them”

Commenting further, Mr Saleh who represented Engr Ciroma maintained that Engr. Ciroma will look into the demands of the village community with it’s head with regards to development and rehabilitation of the primary school. That Engr. Ciroma will soon fix the community electricity that was vandalized, which is billed to cost not less than one hundred and fifty million naira. “This is to ensure that the community light is been restored between now and July 2025”.

Also speaking, was Hon. James, PDP chairman Sanga local government, he said the cultural heritage is something that should be adhered to, as such, “we are here to identify with the people and celebrate with them. Hon. James while appreciating God for the peaceful environment, said that without peace, there cannot be development” I listened to the village head making an appeal for interventions interns of development, I call on all illustrious sons and daughters of the land, most especially those that were voted to rise up to the challenges so that the community can attain the standard development needed for the people”
