The Principal of community comprehensive High School, Ayede-Ogbese in Akure North Local Government Mr  Paul Akinseinde  Adesomoju has praised the sponsor of Peace Compassion Group, Mr. Oladimeji Abitogun and Mrs. Elizabeth Uzoamaka Abitogun for launching a rescue campaign to restore the glory of education and wean Students off marijuana hook.

Mr. Adesomoju commended the charitable giving of Mr. Abitogun, a legally Blind Journalist who lives in the United States of America which included some two hundred books out of which ninety three copies were received last week.

Mr. Adesomoju said that the schools old students have taken an hap hard attitude about developments that” Infact, I am overwhelmed by this presentation. If you look at the library, we don’t have enough books. The reading culture is dying. We shall rejuvenate things by having relevant text books in the library. The presentation from Mr.Abitogun has helped us to solve that particular problem. This is a good programme. It is good presentation, in a very good direction that would enhance the reaction of education in the community “, said principal Adesomoju.

Mr. Adesomoju  blamed the  waning standard of education on wrong application of information technology, “in those days when a typical student carried a bag pack, you would  find books  in there, these days, student carry around hand-sets, DVDs and whatever. They rarely have time to read”.

He also explained that parental supervision is lacking.”Students watch television Twenty Four Seven; get hooked on internet and to worsen the situation the value system has gone wrong.  Students patronize “miracle centers”, schools that encourage fraud in examinations and testing standards”. He said that the promise of more books, computers and cash rewards for students who genuinely and honestly pass their final exams and get admission into universities, guaranteed by Mr. and Mrs Abitogun is one sure rescue plan that would work to ensure that students who mastered hard work and excellence can be strongly motivated through proper incentive and mentoring.

The school’s chaplain, Rev Tubosun Sunday Fashanu likened the donations from both Sharpedgenews.com and Peace Compassion Group led by the Abitoguns as compliant with Pavlov’s theory of motivation “because, according to him, Mr. Abitogun had wet the appetite of the students with responsible public motivational speeches before the books firmly arrived, describing the donations as a good step in the right direction”, this school would always want more. This school is blessed with a large piece of land and if you want to build a bigger library, we would still be able to afford it”.

Mrs Dorcas Ogoh, the school’s librarian said that in her sixteen years of being there, no single individual or old student has ever given as much as Mr Abitogun has done.
