
Abuja, Nigeria – June 30, 2025 — Rita was among the dynamic delegates at the Diplomatic Conference 2025, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, where she actively took on the role of Nigerian Ambassador to France during the flagship Diplomatic Simulation Exercise.
The Diplomatic Conference, hosted by the African Transformer Institute in collaboration with the Center for Peace Advocacy and Sustainable Development (CEPASD), convened a distinguished gathering of ambassadors, diplomats, foreign policy experts, and emerging leaders under the theme:
“Strengthening Nigeria’s Foreign Policy, Diplomacy, and International Cooperation for National Development.”
Rita Lawson’s performance in the simulation exercise stood out for its strategic depth and diplomatic clarity. As the delegate representing Nigeria in France, she navigated bilateral discussions on economic partnerships, climate diplomacy, cultural exchange programs, and regional security cooperation—highlighting the multifaceted nature of Nigeria–France relations.
Her participation reflected not only a strong understanding of Nigeria’s foreign policy priorities but also the emerging influence of young professionals in shaping global engagement and strategic partnerships.
The conference also marked the official inauguration of the Diplomatic Assembly, a platform created to bring together diplomats, foreign affairs professionals, and youth leaders committed to enhancing Nigeria’s role on the international stage.
High-level guests in attendance included the High Commissioner of Botswana to Nigeria, Deputy Ambassador of the European Union to Nigeria, representatives from the United Nations, High Commission of Canada, and Embassy of Germany, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
