
The Araba and Oluisese of Ibadanland, Araba Ifalere Odegbemi Odegbola II, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Akinloye Owolabi Ige Olakulehin I, the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a press release from the office of the Araba of Ibadanland, Araba Odegbola extended heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the government of Oyo State, the entire Ibadan community, and all Yoruba people.
He described the loss as a significant blow to the traditional institution and the region as a whole.
The Araba praised the late monarch’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, unity, and development of the people of Ibadanland, highlighting his exemplary leadership throughout his reign.
At the same time, the Araba of Ibadanland congratulated Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan, who was crowned with the beaded crown in August 2024, officially marking him as the next in line and rightful successor to the Olubadan throne.
The Araba emphasized the importance of a peaceful and smooth transition of power, expressing confidence that Senator Ladoja’s reign would usher in stability, progress, and renewed hope for Ibadanland and its people.
He called on all stakeholders and citizens to support the new Olubadan in his mission to continue the legacy of growth and unity established by his predecessor.
