OSEMEJI/OBAMORO Conference To Hold Tomorrow Wednesday 5

Ibadan is set to host the OSEMEJI/OBAMORO Conference 2025 on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 10 a.m.

The event will take place at the Chieftaincy Hall, Oyo State Secretariat, Ibadan, highlighting the cultural and spiritual richness of Òsé Méjì, a tradition deeply rooted in Ibadan heritage.

The conference, themed “Ose Meji: The Spiritual Source Of Ibadanland And Its Relevance In Modern Times,” will explore the longstanding debates surrounding the rightful ownership of Òsé Méjì—whether it is the exclusive preserve of Babaláwo (diviners), devoted Òrìṣà followers, or the Ibadan people themselves.

Key speakers include Dr. Fayemi Fatunde, Mogaji Onibudo of Ibadanland, and Surveyor Adefabi Dasola Faniran, who will provide insights into the heritage’s impact on cultural identity and modern-day relevance.

The event will be led by Araba Ifalere Odegbemi Odegbola II, the Araba and Olúìsèsè of Ibadanland.

His Imperial Majesty Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Arusa I, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, will serve as Royal Father of the day. Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde will be the Special Guest of Honour, and Alhaja Sarata Konibaje will be the Mother of the day.

The conference invites community members, scholars, and cultural enthusiasts to deepen their understanding of Ibadan’s spiritual traditions and promote unity among stakeholders through this important cultural dialogue.
