Travel Agent Clarifies Suspension of Company Operations in Qatar

Mr. Emmanuel Nwachukwu, Caretaker of BFD Travel and Tours, has issued an official statement following the temporary suspension of the company’s operations by the Qatar Ministry of Interior (MOI).

BFD Travel and Tours has operated in the State of Qatar for over fifteen (15) years, providing travel and tour services in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In November 2025, the company organized a group tour program that brought more than two hundred (200) visitors from Nigeria to Qatar.

Following the group’s arrival, reports emerged that over thirty (30) individuals absconded, thereby violating the terms of their entry into the country.

In response to this development, the Qatar Ministry of Interior temporarily suspended the company’s operations pending the identification, tracing, and recovery of the absconded individuals.

Mr. Nwachukwu has categorically stated that he had no prior knowledge of, nor involvement in, any intention by the individuals concerned to abscond or breach Qatari immigration laws.

He emphasized that their actions were carried out independently and without authorization from him or the management of BFD Travel and Tours.

He further reaffirmed his full respect for the laws of the State of Qatar and expressed his readiness to cooperate fully with the relevant authorities to facilitate a swift resolution of the matter. Mr. Nwachukwu noted that the company remains committed to lawful operations and to safeguarding its long-standing reputation built over many years of service in Qatar.

This statement was issued to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident and to reassure the public, business partners, and relevant authorities of the company’s commitment to compliance, transparency, and respect for Qatari regulations.
