At least sixteen people were seriously injured this afternoon after a bus went up in flames following suspected sabotage that occurred from a massive explosion,
in a Jerusalem neighbourhood.
The explosion happened at a time of heightening tension between Israelis and Palestinians in the holiday week of traditional Passover festival marked by Jews in celebration of libration from subjugation by Egypt in historic times.
Policemen and firefighters joined by civilians combined to douse the leaping flames from the burning bus. No fatality has been pronounced yet. Some of the sixteen injured persons were believed to have suffered serious burns, wounds from shrapnel and cuts from flying debris.
The fire is suspected to have first combusted from an explosive device which might have been planted around the engine of the bus. Locals said such rarely occur in a city where everyone watches out for sabotage.
