The Nigerian Police Force, NPF. has declared Arebojie Godday wanted for alleged homosexuality and attempt to commit suicide.
Homosexuality is an attraction between people who are of the same sex. It is illegal in Nigeria and punishable by 14 years imprisonment.
According to the police statement, the 14-year-old Arebojie Godday from Ewossa town in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State. on the 14th day of September 2018 police storm a group of boys at one popular bar practising homosexuality by the people of the community in Benin city and some boys were apprehended.
He was said to have fled the scene of the incident, and members of the public were informed to report his whereabouts.
The Police said it carried out a thorough investigation on this criminal act and found it to be true. And police spokesman said according to information they gathered from the community that he was also trying to commit suicide but due to intervention of some people, he dropped the idea of committing suicide and fled to unknown destination.
However, he reportedly escaped in an attempt to apprehend him.
A magistrate court in Benin city Edo State have issued a warrant of arrest against Arebojie Godday.
