Prof. Abayomi Fasina, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, has felicitated the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of the institution, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba, as he clocks 70.
This is contained in a statement signed by Fasina and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria, on Monday in Abuja.
The erudite scholar and renowned soil scientist described Ndoma-Egba as an amiable personality, respected political figure, and legal icon who has lived an exemplary life of accomplishment, humility, and dedication to serving God and humanity.
“On behalf of my family, I join other well-wishers across the globe to heartily congratulate and celebrate the amiable Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of FUOYE, on the glorious occasion of his 70th birthday.
“Sen. Ndoma-Egba, a distinguished leader of integrity and courage, known for his intellectual acumen, unwavering passion for education, and tireless commitment to promoting peace and national unity, has made remarkably significant contributions to Nigeria’s development.
“At 70, it can be clearly seen that the astute legal luminary, respected statesman and ex-parliamentarian of note, who in my estimation, is the best Senate Leader ever produced by the Nigerian Senate, has lived a life of fulfilment worthy of emulation and commendation.
“The FUOYE community is indeed fortunate to have him as the university’s Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council. His wealth of experience and influence in the political terrain, have been quite beneficial to the 15-year-old FUOYE.
“He has demonstrated visionary, pragmatic and proactive leadership keeping FUOYE on the path of progress and sustainable development.
“Completely down to earth, Ndoma-Egba is God-sent to FUOYE. A Chairman sent by grace to rescue FUOYE from the hands of those who wanted to pull down the institution through mischief and blackmail
Fasina explained that the one-time Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Board helmsman proved his mettle and expertise in crisis management.
He noted that Ndoma-Egba ensured that FUOYE continue to stand firmly on its footing despite the alleged misinformation and lies being deliberately and mischievously peddled to damage the university’s reputation.
“Ndoma-Egba’s Chairmanship injected Council meetings with fresh energy, fostering more dynamic and productive discussions as against what obtained before divine grace brought him to FUOYE.
“His arrival at FUOYE was like a breath of fresh air, instantly revitalizing the academic environment.
“Under his leadership, Council meetings embodied democratic principles, where members freely expressed their views devoid of intimidation and oppression.
“As he climbs the seventh floor today and continues to impact FUOYE community and the society at large, it is my prayer that God’s grace, mercy, and protection will never cease to be upon him,” Fasina said. (NAN)
