Hammed Muritala’s Fevered Fantasy: Dissecting The Calumny Of A Desperate APC Foot-Soldier By Alaba Abdulrazak

I have read with lively amusement Hammed Muritala’s latest effusion, masquerading as political analysis from a so-called APC member who, driven by visceral hatred for Sharafadeen Alli’s potential emergence as the party’s governorship candidate in Oyo State, has decided to commit political harakiri.

Such ranting is nothing but a masterclass in calumny and political desperation of Muri and his paymasters. To me, Muri’s insolence amounts to a desperate farrago of innuendo and gutter sniping from an APC foot-soldier whose purse strings are gripped more tightly by his paymasters than his hold on facts.

People like Muri, who obviously need psychological evaluation, should be referred to the West West Grand of University College Hospital, Ibadan, or Yaba Left in Lagos State for proper evaluation.

One marvels at the alacrity with which he transmogrifies Senator Sharafadeen Alli’s dignified declaration into a ‘shit show’, all while clutching at straws to besmirch a Fuji maestro, the Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, and sundry luminaries.

One wonders what pecuniary inducement prompted this overwrought bilge. For it reeks of the very “onijekuje” opportunism he so liberally ascribes to others.

While one would have ignored such innuendos, warts and all, good-for-nothing individuals like him need to be placed where they rightly belong—in the dustbin!

Let us dissect this risible rant with the scalpel it deserves. Saheed Osupa, that peerless troubadour of Fuji, did not act for money as Muri fulminates; he performed with inimitable verve at Senator Alli’s declaration, voicing the sentiments of myriad Ibadan indigenes who see in Alli a son worthy of the mantle. “Omo Ale Ibadan ni o nii lo si ibi ti Olubadan nlo!”—those words are no scripted forgery but a clarion call to unity, echoing the organic affinity between Alli and our revered monarch. Oba Ladoja, the sagacious leader-turned Olubadan, has never disavowed such fraternal bonds; his storied political acumen discerns in Alli not a puppet, but a protégé advancing Ibadan’s primacy and Oyo State in general.

Muri’s fevered fantasy of royal partisanship is but projection from a camp terrified of Alli’s inexorable ascent.

And what of this “Agbelero award” from the Daily Independent newspaper? Muri’s scornful dismissal only exposes his profound ignorance.

The Daily Independent awards recognise luminaries across diverse societal strata—professionals, technocrats, and politicians who have left indelible marks in myriad fields of human endeavour. Recipients are selected through meticulous evaluation against rigorous performance metrics in their respective domains.

Would any person of sound judgement deride such accolades as “Agbelero”? To Muri and his patrons, the Daily Independent pays tribute to Alli’s legislative acumen: bills spearheaded for economic empowerment, constituency projects executed with quiet efficacy—from infrastructural succour in Oyo South to fervent advocacy for youth development. By contrast, Muri’s tepid praise for Representatives Agboworin and Oseni, while commendable, pales beside Alli’s senatorial record, which eclipses theirs in breadth and profundity.

Billboards for Sallah? A tawdry jab from someone oblivious to the optics of accessibility. As for the “Abuja cabal”, Muri and his paymasters are the ones peddling that narrative; it exists solely in the fevered imaginations of political relics who failed President Bola Tinubu’s integrity vetting in Oyo State.

Alli’s momentum springs from integrity and grassroots acceptability, not cabalistic contrivance.

Muri’s pièce de résistance, however, is his unwitting prophecy: APC’s internecine squabbles will indeed pave for Governor Makinde’s successor a royal road to power. Muri! Haba! Is this what you and your paymasters are thinking, or perhaps you are planning antiparty activity that will eventually drag your paymasters into political oblivion?

Alli has become a galvanising force, the very elixir to unify APC faithful against PDP or any other party’s faltering heir.

President Tinubu, that astute tactician, recognises Alli as a colossus poised to reclaim Oyo for progressivism.

Muri’s plea for presidential “shining eyes” is thus a plea in vain; the die is cast.

Senator Alli’s train gathers steam, and Muri’s howls fade into irrelevance. Senator Alli embodies that timeless verity.
