Aisha Buhari lauds NAFOWA Contributions to Education

The wife of the President, Mrs Aisha BUhari has lauded the giant contribution  by the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Association to the education sector of the

nation. The wife of the President made the commendation on Saturday during the commissioning of the NAFOWA Little Angels Primary School in the NAF Base Kaduna.

Mrs Buhari who was represented at the occasion by the wife of the Kaduna state governor Hajia Hadiza El-Rufai said that the need for quality education for child especially at the tender age cannot be overemphasized noting that the decadence in education system was as a result of faulty foundation.

She said the initiative by the NAFOWA to help contributing to the development of child education is a great service to the entire humanity while urging them not to rest on their oars.

Speaking further, Mrs Buhari called on parents within the barracks and immediate communities to avail the primary school established by the NAFOWA to educate their children noting that quality education remain the best weapon to address all form of criminality and poverty in our society.

In her welcome address, the National President of NAFOWA, Hajiya Hafsat Abubakar remarked that the association initiatives are aimed at adding value to lives through social welfare and family support programs. These she said include Nursery and Primary schools across the country, cancer screening centers, children parks and multipurpose hall. As well as skill acquisition programs for women and youths across the country.

 According to her, “NAFOWA participation in education is borne out of the need to provide quality and affordable education for wards of officers and men of the NAF and those from the surrounding communities”.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar who was also at the commissioning ceremony expressed his delight at the effort of NAFOWA to successfully complete the school saying that it would help to cater for the increase in wards of personnel as a result of the increase In the number of new enlistment into the NAF. The initiative he said was a way of adding values to what was on ground and “if we must have a secured society, we must improve on what we have”, Air Marshal Abubakar said.

The NAFOWA little Angel Nursery School Kaduna was established in  April 1999 when it started  as a day care Centre and play group before it evolved to nursery school. The need to provide quality primary education for the nursery graduands inform the decision to established a modern and well equipped primary school to compliment the solid foundation laid for the pupils in preschool stages. This also coupled with learning in a secure and conducive environment for children. The primary school has the ability to cater for up to 400 pupils and with the state of the art learning facilities.
