Jegede Promises redress for Poorly Graded Royal Fathers

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) has promised to look into the agitations of some

traditional rulers in the state, regarding poor grading.

Some Grade D royal fathers known as Olu or Baale have written series of petitions, calling for a review of their status.

But Jegede on Thursday gave an assurance that justice would be metted out over the discontent, calling on the traditional rulers to sensitise their people on the need to vote for continuity, come November 26.

He spoke at Igunsin, a community in Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State during the official inauguration of a modern borehole in the community.

Jegede, who was represented by a group of PDP leaders, led by Hon. Adedayo Omolafe, popularly known as ‘Expensive’, also told the people of Igunsin not to have any doubt concerning the construction of roads leading to the town and adjourning communities.

Earlier, the Olu of Igunsin, Oba William Adeoye Akinyemi, had promised the Jegede team the total support of people in Igunsin town. He also assured them that all other Olus are in total support of the PDP candidate.

While speaking on other political parties in the state, Oba Akinyemi revealed that Igunsin and other neighbouring towns were not ready to entertain any other political party except the PDP.

“In Igunsin town, we are fully ready to cast our total votes for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) and we are not in support of any other political party in the State,” he stressed.

Also on the occasion, a group, People’s Emancipation Network for Better Ondo State, had rallied support for Jegede, urging the locals to cast their total votes for Jegede, as he would not let them down.

The National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Alex Adeoye, declared that ‘People’s Emancipation Network for Better Ondo State’ is a non-governmental organisation saddled with the responsibility of alleviating poverty in the society.

“Water is life and life is water; therefore, we are ready to replicate the water project across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State, to promote Eyitayo Jegede’s candidature and to ensure that all our members in a nook and cranny of Ondo State will cast their votes for Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), because we believe in him alone,” he declared.
