Insurgency: Current Weather Condition, not a Threat To our Operations- Chief of Air Staff

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has expressed the readiness of the Nigerian Air Force in continuing with the current tempo of air assault

against the Boko Haram Terrorists in the North East and the fight against economic saboteurs in the Niger Delta noting that the current weather condition is not a threat to its operations.

Air Marshal Abubakar disclosed this while inaugurating the newly executed projects, which includes an administrative building and classroom blocks at the NAFOWA Little Angel School by the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association in Abuja.

The NAF boss who spoke against the background that the current weather condition in the country may hamper air efforts in the on-going military operations across the country revealed that the fighter pilots are well trained and the platforms have the capability to operate effectively under the current weather.

According to the CAS, “what we are doing is making the best out of the situation. Weather as you know is a natural phenomenon, nobody can change that but what I can assure you is that our pilots are properly trained to be able to operate under such circumstances.”

Speaking further, Air Marshal Abubakar said that “we have what we call our operation minimal and as long as the weather does not drag to that level, our pilots will continue to operate,” adding that up till Wednesday morning, the NAF fighter jets and other operational platforms are still flying in the North East and other part of the country.

Speaking on the new NAFOWA projects, the Air Chief appealed to all well-meaning citizens to invest in children education noting that they are the future leaders and there is need to lay a solid foundation that would raise a better society.

He urged the NAFOWA not to rest on their oars in pursuing more innovative projects that would raise the standard of education.
