Reject Our Enemies and Vote Massively For PDP Candidates, Olaka Nwogu Urges Ogonis

Ahead of Saturday Re-run Election in the State, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Hon. Olaka

Nwogu has called on Ogonis to take their destiny in their hands and vote for only PDP candidates on Saturday, December 10, 2016.

Senator Nwogu in a press statement issued in Port Harcourt on Tuesday urged Ogonis to use their votes to reject their enemies of yesterday who are planning to take advantage of the National Assembly to mortgage the future of the Ogoni in collaboration with their paymasters in Abuja.

The Senator charged Ogonis whom he said are noted for their bold, courageous and resilient dispositions to use the Saturday election as a payback for the likes of Magnus Abe and Barry Mpigi.

He regretted that the UNEP Report has been hijacked and politicized by the APC, allocating all juicy positions to their APC paymasters in Abuja who knew nothing about the Ogoni struggle.

The former Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment promised to ensure the full implementation of the UNEP Report.

Olaka Nwogu urged Ogonis to replicate the landslide vote given to all PDP candidates during the 2015 General Election, noting that a repeat performance would silence the APC and prove to Nigerians that indeed Rivers State is PDP; and PDP is Rivers State.

While condemning the withdrawal of Governor Wike’s Chief Security Officer, Olaka Nwogu further reminded Ogonis that even the police officers who supervised some of the atrocities done against Ogonis, including the killing of Ken Saro-Wiwa are the same ones now guiding the helmsmen of the APC in Rivers State.

Senator Olaka Nwogu also described the claim by the APC candidate, Mr. Magnus Abe and other candidates of the APC to fast track the full implementation of the UNEP report as fraudulent, ridiculous and deceitful, adding that the same people who never supported it from day one, are today using it to lure Ogonis, calling on them not to fall to the trap.
