NAF Reinstates Commitment to Sustain Strategic Airlifts

The Nigerian Air Force has reinstated its commitment to sustain the strategic

airlift role offer in aid of both civil and military authorities in Nigeria.

The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar made the pledge today during the NAF 2017 third quarterly route march exercise held at the Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja.

While recounting some of the NAF modest achievements in the area of airlift services in support to security, Air Marshal Abubakar said that the NAF more than ever before is readily positioned to carry out its assigned airlift duties.

The CAS recalled the recent airlift of relief materials donated by Nigeria government in aid of flood victims in Sierra-Leone and the airlift of participants of the National Defence College on Africa study tour. The CAS also expressed the preparedness of NAF to convey the participants of its Air War College in Makurdi to the various West African countries in lieu of their study tour. 

The CAS also used the occasion to appreciate the efforts of the pilots and other specialties in ensuring NAF successes in various operations both within and outside the country. He convey the appreciation of the Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari to them and urged them to step up their combat spirit until the security situations in the nation is stabilize. 

While emphasizing on the need for regular exercise to keep fit as officers and men of the armed forces, Abubakar affirmed that intelligence and commitment to duty without a sound body cannot translate to effective service delivery. He huge them to take regular physical training serious in order to be able to discharge their constitutional responsibility well without fear or favour.

The NAF route march exercise covering about 10km is a quarterly event package to reawaken endurance walk and physical fitness in the officers and men.
