…Declare Melaye, Audu Wanted by INTERPOL

The Nigeria Police Force, Kogi State Police Command on Wednesday said six suspected criminal elements in its custody at the A Division, Lokoja Police Head office, have escaped from its custody to unknown destination.
The suspects included: Kabiru Seidu a.k.a Osama, Nuhu Salisu a.k.a Small, Aliyu Isa, Adams Suleiman, Emmanuel Audu and Musa Mohammed.
Meanwhile, Senator Dino Melaye and Mohammed Audu, accused of being collaborators to two of the suspects have been declared wanted on the red notice list of the International Police (INTERPOL), for their refusal to respond to summon by the Federal High Court and Police in Lokoja.
The Nigeria Police Force Spokesperson, Assistant Commission of Police ACP, Jimoh Moshood last week threatened to declare Melaye and Audu on INTERPOL red notice should both refuse to obey the summon served them by the Court in Lokoja.
In a statement signed by the Kogi State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ali A. Janga, which was made available to Sharpedgenews online, added that news that six suspected criminal elements namely; Kabiru Seidu a.k.a Osama, Nuhu Salisu a.k.a Small, Aliyu Isa, Adams Suleiman, Emmanuel Audu and Musa Mohammed who were under detention at the ‘A’ Division Lokoja escaped from lawful custody.
According to the Commissioner, four of the suspects were on court remand including two that indicted Senator Dino Melaye and Mohammed Audi.
Janga said: “Consequently, all the six suspects, Senator Dino Melaye and Mohammed Audu were sent for watch listing and red notice by the INTERPOL for immediate arrest any where we see them.
“The Command hereby appealed to the members of the public to assist the Police with useful information on the whereabouts of the suspects by reporting to the nearest Police Station.”
He said investigation into the unfortunate incident is ongoing, while the thirteen Police Officers who were on duty when the incident occurred were defaulted and detained for interrogation.
The Kogi State Police Commissioner said: “Members of the public are hereby enjoined to go about their lawful duty as the Command is determined in ensuring adequate security of lives and property in Kogi State.”
