Shittu, 35 Others Write Oyegun, Ask Court to Stop Oyo APC Convention

The Minister of Communications Dr. Abdur-Raheem Adebayo Shittu and thirty five other aggrieved members of

the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State have, through their lawyer, A.U. Mustapha (SAN) & Co, instituted an action today, on Friday at the Federal High Court, Abuja seeking, a declaration that the Court should declare null and void the State Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which led to the emergence of the Chief Akin Oke led State Executive of the APC.

According to the aggrieved members, they averred that the election should be declared as void having no foundation of a valid Ward and Local Government Area Congresses and also an Order of the Court restraining the Chief Akin Oke led State Executive of the APC from parading themselves as the validly elected Oyo State Executive Members of the APC and from participating in the forthcoming National Convention of the Party.

In a statement signed by Mr. Saheed Oladele, the Director, Media Strategy to the Minister, said the law firm of A.U. Mustapha SAN& Co. has written Chief John Odigie Oyegun, the National Chairman of APC, notifying him of the pendency of the Suit and that any attempt to recognize the said purported APC Oyo State Executives led by Chief Akin Oke in the forthcoming National Convention of the Party on on Saturday would be an affront on the judiciary as same is now subjudice.
