The National President of Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC New Era, Comrade Razak Arogundade has urged the national leader
of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be diplomatic while dealing with President Buhari who is likely going to dump him after the 2019 election.
Arogundade in a press statement signed and made available journalists, said that Asiwaju needs to be very careful and diplomatic while dealing with President Muhammadu Buhari as far as 2019 election is concerned.
“As one of the vibrant and resourceful Yoruba leaders we around today; we are using this medium to appeal to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be very careful and diplomatic while dealing with President Buhari as far as 2019 presidential election is concerned. By that time President Buhari might have achieved aim of second term which of course Tinubu will be largely responsible for. After winning the second term; Buhari will dump Tinubu.”
The OPC leader alleged that after the 2015 presidential election in which President Buhari won with assistance of Tinubu and some other Yoruba leaders; a cabal within the presidency hijacked power and almost made Tinubu irrelevant.
“We need to look back at what the cabal within the Presidency at the behest of Buhari did after he assisted APC to win the presidential election in 2015. They tried to make Tinubu irrelevant but they failed. Now that, 2019 election is fast approaching Tinubu has become a ‘beautiful bride’ again. Buhari and his people are banking on Tinubu’s support to win the 2019 election. After that, they will try to dump him or make him totally irrelevant politically if care is not taking.”
“That is why today, we are appealing to Tinubu to be careful and be diplomatic while dealing with President Buhari. We don’t want his case to be that of late MKO Abiola who after dining and wining with Hausa/Fulani people eventually betrayed him.” Speaking further, the OPC leader urged all state governors in the Southwest to desist from establishing cattle colonies in their various states.
“We are aware that some governors have started making plans to establish cattle colonies in Yorubaland; we are totally against this and will not support such governor.” “In as much as we are not against one Nigeria; we cannot encourage any plan that will endanger the lives of our people. That is why we want this country to be restructured so that all the problems facing us as a nation will become a thing of the past.”
