Fashola: Works/Housing Sector Remains Platform to Move Nigerians Out of Poverty

The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN on Thursday disclosed that the primary target of

President Muhammadu Buhari’s next level administration was to move Nigerians out of poverty to prosperity.

He added that Works and Housing were vital to achieving this mission. According to the minister with good infrastructure, value of properties increase, owners earn more money.

In his own words ‘’Moving people out of poverty and bringing them to prosperity is the clear message of Mr President.’’

Mrs. Boade Akinola, quoted that the minister made the disclosure at his office in Abuja when he received in audience 21 members of the Good Governance Ambassadors of Nigeria (GOGAN, South -west Zone led by the Zonal coordinator, Alhaja Olabisi Eletu, on a courtesy visit.

He posited that GOGAN’s message of good governance was in agreement with the President determination to provide good governance and quality service delivery to Nigerians.

Fashola noted that the present administration was aggressively addressing, not only the problems of abandoned projects but also the infrastructural deficit bedevilling not only the South-west geo- political zone but also Nigeria in general.

Some Directors of the ministry, according to Akinola, listed on-going Works and Housing projects in the South-West Geopolitical Zone. Reacting to that list, the Minister said: ’’Everything asked for is happening. Government is executing road projects. Government is actually responding to our demands.’’
