Soon workers in the public sector would heave a sigh of relief as they receive their enhanced pay package courtesy the new minimum wage recently agreed and approved by the Federal government.
Speaking yesterday in response to a reporter’s question the Accountant-General of the Federation Ahmed Idris FCNA assured that the government is working earnestly towards the new minimum wage implementation.
In his words, “Government is not unaware of its responsibility and necessary committees of all the relevant stakeholders have been talking towards full implementation of the minimum wage policy of the federal government and I believe even at the state level action is being taken. The labour is being involved, our office and all other institutional stakeholders are being involved and very soon implementation will kickstart.”
