The ex- President Goodluck Jonathan has described the emergence of Douye Diri as the new Governor of the State, as divine.
“Your journey to creek haven is divine and so I’d advise you to use your position to do good to humanity and pursue the development of the state in order to write your name in gold.”
He expressed confidence in Diri’s capacity to fufil the aspirations of Bayelsa people saying “You have worked with me before as a commissioner and I have no doubt that you will live up to the expectations our people”
In his congratulatory message he stated that the responsibility for building hope and sustaining peace across the state now lies on his shoulders. Jonathan exhorted him to understand that he is the governor of all Bayelsans and to use this opportunity of glory to build bridges of unity by entrenching a culture of love, fairness and justice across the state.He used the opportunity to call on all Bayelsans to be law abiding and peaceful.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan is also a former governor of Bayelsa State.
