Oil Minister Allison-Madueke Mobbed in New York Street

OIL RESOURCES minister, Mrs. Diezeani Allison-Madueke, narrowly escaped being mobbed by a group led by internet ragamuffin and separatist agitator, Carlisle Umunnah, during last week’s United Nations summit in New York.

Sources told sharpedgenews.com that Ms. Madueke was saved by a group of journalists whom she loves to deride and some Nigerian Mission workers in New York, attracted the anger of the group because of her reported ostentatious lifestyle.

The protester, who had to be restricted by onlookers and the group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, alleged that the oil minster may be having a relationship “with the president” which she has to explain to Nigerians.

According to them, “Mrs. Madueke had no point in having her names on three spate hotel accommodations” in New York, during the United Nations event, and that “she came with fifteen people in her entourage – to do what?”

Mrs. Madueke allegedly had to herself five black Mercedes Benz S500, a lifestyle that the protesters claim continues to show that government appointees like her do not care about the present angst of Nigerians about subsidy of oil products in the homeland.

The protesters demanded that her continued stay in office impedes necessary reforms in the country’s petroleum sector. They also demanded that Diezeani Allison-Madueke should be arrested and charged for the killing of a media worker who was allegedly overran by a member of her convoy recently in Abuja.

Mrs. Madueke had the protester’s camera focused on her face in New York last Thursday and it took the intervention of journalists to secure an easy passage for her even as the group managing director of the petroleum corporation chaperoned her to a waiting Mercedes Benz S500. She never stopped to show appreciation to those who rescued her from the mob as she got tucked in the right corner of the limousine.

She was leater overheard telling someone that she thought the camera that was recording her possible came from a critical online media house in New York.
