Chief Kolawole Adewoyin, the newly affirmed National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), on Wednesday pledged sweeping reforms and renewed unity within the organization.
Adewoyin who addressed members during a press conference at the hall of University of Ibadan Hotel, assured them that his administration would reposition IPMAN for improved performance and address longstanding challenges.
“Today, I stand before you not only as the newly affirmed President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, but also as a firm believer in the rule of law, due process and the strength of our democratic institutions.”
“The Supreme Court of our great nation has spoken and, with that, justice has been served. I am humbled by this affirmation and thankful to God Almighty, the legal team, my supporters and every member who stood by the truth throughout this journey.”
Adewoyin emphasized that his presidency would focus on collaboration, transparency, innovation and progress.
He therefore called on members to move past previous divisions, promising that all issues facing the association would be addressed promptly.
“Let me be clear: while this presidency may have come through the courtroom, it is for the people, by the people and will serve the interest of every petroleum marketer in Nigeria. Now is not the time to dwell on divisions or disputes. Now is the time to heal, unite and build.”
Adewoyin outlined his administration’s priorities, which include:
Strengthening IPMAN’s voice in policy advocacy and regulatory engagement
Ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all members
Embracing innovation and best practices for safer, cleaner and more efficient operations
Promoting capacity building and youth inclusion in the industry
He also extended an invitation to all members, regardless of past allegiances, to work together for the association’s progress.
“I will lead with humility, strength and an open heart. I thank my predecessors for their service, and I invite every one of you to work with me. Let’s restore confidence, build bridges and write a new chapter of unity and achievement in the history of IPMAN,” Adewoyin said.
The event drew IPMAN members from across the country and featured the unveiling of other national officers, including Deputy National President Mainasara Katanga, National Secretary Fred Ufuah, National Treasurer Sunny Doobee and Northwest Zonal Chairman Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim Ten-Ten.
