Kaduna State was one of the peaceful State in Nigeria until 2015 when one of major incident and bloodshed that claims so many lives and properties which AIMAYO FAMILY was one of the family that lost lives of their loved ones and members of their family.
The Family of AIMAYO were all living in Kaduna making earns living, running their daily activities and business till 2015. The “YEAR OF VIOLENCE/BLOODSHED” The violence and bloodshed that claims the life of aimayo timothy 34 years, AIMAYO OTAFO 24 years and AIMAYO BRIGHT 23 years.
It started on a bloody note in January and ended with an orgy of violence in Zaria, where soldiers in the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, clashed with members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, popularly known and called as SHI’ITES. The group was reported to being a procession, carrying out its annual “CHANGING OF FLAGS” ceremony to usher in the Islamic month of Maulud, birth month of Prophet Mohammed. At the end of the fracas, a lot of people were killed, so many houses were burnt. The Shi’ites Sect claimed a figure of well over 1000 persons both young & old were killed. Even when the soldiers demolished the residence of Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the group’s leader who was
consequently arrested.
The incident has since become a subject of National controversy even as the Army said that the group made an attempts to assassinate Buratai. The sect, numbering hundreds and carrying dangerous weapons, barricaded the roads with bonfires, heavy stones and tyres. They refused all entreaties to disperse and they started firing and pelting the convoy with dangerous objects. As a result, so many houses and shops were burnt. So many people lost their loved ones and businesses and properties. The clash led to so many destructions of properties in the land.
It was the clash that led to the attack and killing of YOHANNA DAVID SHINKUT, the District Head of Zangang Atakar Chiefdom of Kaura Local Government Area of the State. Reports said that Shinkut was returning home from Manchok when the gunmen ambushed him. Barely three weeks later, on January 27th, gunmen had also attacked a funeral ceremony in another Southern Community in Kamanton Chiefdom of Kafanchan Local Government, killing Seven (7) Persons.
The violence equally trailed the start-off of the 2015 electioneering campaigns in Kaduna in February following the death of some persons at Rigasa in Kaduna Metropolis. The campaign train of former Governor MUKHTAR RAMALAN YERO was passing through the area when some of the PDP supports reportedly clashed with the opposition APC. Apart from the dead ones, so many people/persons were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries aside the vandalization of vehicles and properties so many people/persons were reported missing among whom were AIMAYO FRIDAY KELVIN and AIMAYO LUCKY.
The family of AIMAYO has gone through a lot after the death of their three(3) sons, the whereabout of their two(2) sons is unknown. These were men (family of Aimayo) known to be hard-working, doing their daily businesses and putting food on the table for members of their family. After the family of AIMAYO loosed their three sons, properties and businesses, two of the wife’s of the late ones sustained degrees of injuries and their two (2) able men were gone or missing.
The questions from the elders, the chiefs and people of the native land/home of AIMAYO family in Edo State (their home of origin) is “WHERE IS AIMAYO FRIDAY KELVIN & AIMAYO LUCKY?”
